Hi guys, welcome back to today's episode on Mindset, so good to have you around.
I was in a conversation with a dear friend and we were discussing this particular mobile app that offers free services, he made the point that; he does not trust the mobile app because how exactly are they generating their gains?
He also established that as time goes on they will start placing charges in the app bit by bit. And of course, he gave examples of several mobile apps that have done something similar in the past years and ended up charging more. Then he made a statement; "This is Nigeria".
And just on that spot, I knew that was the perfect example I needed to explain this episode.
Your mindset doesn't always grow on a literal basis 80% of time, they grow coincidentally. This mindset this friend of mine has towards free things In Nigeria didn't just grow because he has seen something like that played out the opposite alone, it grew because there have been many experiences of things not working in a country like Nigeria.
What am I saying in essence, is that your struggle to get to the ATM to withdraw some cash will not only establish in you that withdrawing cash is difficult alone, it tends to establish in you that nothing is easy in this life, so you can start picturing a whole life from just that single specific experience. This in turn alters your perspective of seeing things. This is why the same action can mean different things to different people.
See you in the next episode............

Hmm!
ReplyDeleteA single experience can likely alter our picture of life..
Enlightening.
