ATTENTION and LEARNING

 

       If you want to gain quality attention you'd have to take possession of your mind. You as a person can gain control over your mind. As individuals your mind gets used to things you expose it to overtime; meaning when you take yourself to learn something you are indirectly schooling your mind and you don't even have to take your mind to a school to train it, consistency has the power of birthing new things and also making rearrangements. Yes, the first time you try and expose yourself to a learning process you can struggle with it! Up to the second and third but if you'd give it time, your system will adjust, and just like that something becomes part of you.

               I've seen people do something just a time or two and give it up just like that, and I concluded they haven't learned much because if they have they will know that all they have to do is to give it time to become a habit and this will take time for it to grow. As you can school your mind to learn so many things you can in the same vain school your mind to coordinate your attention. You can give it a stimulus to help like in this first phase of this subject I talked about music, you can master to shut your ears to other things and focus on just the important one at the moment. But you must understand that all this will not just get activated in you just like that! The takes a process to learn. Learning is a very important element in the process of attention, it is important you understand the components involved in other to acquire effective attention  next week I will talk about learning, and till then stay aware!

ATTENTION II

 

   You probably have read that attention is the concept of taking notice of someone or something. This knowledge is very shallow about attention because when considering the subject of attention, there are many factors to consider. Attention is a vital process in learning as it involves a major part of the action of learning. In studying concepts like this various things have to be considered; whilst attention is a process of retaining information then we should ask, how does the process happen, how does a person shut the voice of so many things around and focus on just a subject, in the process of this how then are distractions managed, on the long run, after focusing to information, does this informations get processed in the brain, if yes how?, If No do they escape and every effort gets wasted, and many more you can ask in your heart.

         Whilst you might think attention is just a cognitive process, it is also a behavioral process of actively processing specific information in the environment whilst turning out others. There is huge fish presented to you but not all part of it is useful so you have to chunk out the useless part and present the useful one. You must have heard that your brain has a huge capacity but it's not capacious enough to give attention to a thousand detail at the same time this will rather lead you frustration and less productivity which most people result in. Attention is limited both in terms of capacity and duration which is why it is important to master how to effectively manage resources available in other to be productive and make good use of your time. Have you ever spent a lot of time trying to figure something out (it could be an academic book, a piece of information from a source, or just anything) and it seemed like as you are retaining the information they keep bouncing back to where they are coming from. This is because your attention is not well coordinated to get the pieces of information to your memory

ATTENTION

 

        I was on the bus a while ago and it was going to be a long trip. The Normal me will not want to spend the whole time watching without doing anything. I picked a book and tried to read it but I could not get my mind to come together to read the book. I spent a whole time trying to figure just a sentence out but it all came to the nut as I got frustrated along the line. I've not seen anyone who survives reading in that kind of state. I knew what I could have done to coordinate my attention but I tried so hard to avoid the prejudice that comes from the environment based on such action. In my university days, I had tried so hard to explain to people how the action can help you coordinate your attention to just a thing or two. Few understood and few argued it to date. I couldn't bear it anymore I picked up my earbuds and plugged them in already! Like it was as if heaven came to my aid as I was able to get my attention together towards the book I had tried so hard to read. Immediately, I heard the man sitting next to me lamenting how youths nowadays know nothing more than to plug earpieces and deceive themselves into reading.

          Whilst the single action might deprive such a person of the activities in the environment at the time it isn't still harmful as you can imagine how well you have been able to maximize your time well because you were able to bring your attention together. I've researched and learned a lot about attention and I can tell you the subject of attention goes beyond just the random definition you have of it you must have found yourself in situations whereby you needed to get your attention together and things like such get you frustrated  let's take a ride and learn together..........

The Subconscious

 

          Hi Everyone! Welcome And Happy Friday

          You probably had visited a supermarket at some time and whilst in the supermarket, a piece of music you had never heard was being played. And you spent a little while in the supermarket, by the time you got back to your apartment going about normal activities you find the song resonating in your head! It's so shocking, right! There was never any record of you taking out time to master the lyrics, the beat, or the sound, but here is the song playing right in your head. 

            The very thin line between the conscious and the unconscious is the subconscious. It's commonly known as the part of the mind that Is not focused but; it's also a gateway by which things get into you. So you had probably wondered how some things just flip your mind. You have no prior knowledge on how they got to your awareness. This part of the mind picks impulses from the environment primarily with less or none of your engagement, whilst the conscious requires attention, the subconscious, on the other hand, doesn't even require your attention, the only thing it requires is the gateway to your mind which is your ears. A few interesting facts about the subconscious are;

1. The subconscious is sensitive to a specific stimulus. An example of such could be music

2. It's not a detailed state

3. Impulses received through this channel can't last long on their own

4. Impulses received from this channel can migrate to become part of our consciousness

           With the understanding of these three concepts, you ought to have understood that the things that become well lined up in your mind require your attention!
